Lamana

Lamana was established in 2018 in order to realize a partnership with Japanese furniture brand, Ishinomaki Laboratory under an initiative called Made in Local. Under Made in Local Manila, Lamana is able to manufacture Ishinomaki Lab pieces in the country using locally available skills and materials for selling within the local market. This generous business model cuts down our carbon footprint and empowers the local community both as a producer and as a buyer. 

Inspired by the stylish and practical design aesthetic of the existing Ishinomaki Lab products, Lamana also creates custom pieces that are a perfect fit to the client’s needs. In 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, Lamana launched its first all original line of furniture pieces and accessories designed by local artists. It continues to develop products that are well-designed, functional, and responsive to the times. 

With a small team of only six, Lamana is fueled by a genuine enthusiasm for woodworking. There is no assembly line. A piece of furniture is crafted by one craftsman from start to finish, ensuring that each piece is made with consistency and precision of only the same pair of hands. Lamana is committed not only to producing high quality pieces but also in inspiring and encouraging the community to build and keep the art of craft alive. We hold workshops and take part in events and activities that support this idea.
