With the aim of documenting and recognizing the various industries and outstanding crafts in every town and community all throughout the province of Ilocos Sur, the former provincial Vice Governor Deogracias Savellano launched the search for the Living Treasures of Ilocos Sur. The Living Treasures were the best craftsmen and women who were awarded to be recognized and assisted to teach the younger generations their expertise in the crafts, to continue the tradition of their craftsmanship. However, a marketing arm was needed to find markets for their products and provide sustainable income for the craftsmen to encourage them to continue the legacy. The unschooled craftsmen who lived in the uplands had no means of communicating to the would-be consumers of their products and thus, had no hope of continuance for their cottage industries. Hence, an advocacy was organized by Geraldyn Bonnevie Savellano to promote their products. In October 2013, she and her team organized an ensemble of various weaves and products of these craftsmen to be presented and displayed in the American Women's Club, a club of volunteers whose aim is to aid small entrepreneurs to find markets for their products through monthly bazaars. To the surprise of their team, almost everything they brought was sold. Since these indigent craftsmen had no company or much less even an organization to "go to market", La Bon Vie Enterprise was established for the purpose of finding markets for their products and professionalizing the system of production and packaging of the products.
